I'm a big fan of thrill rides!! How about you??? Here are my top 5 Disney World thrills!!!

Tower of Terror

The second you walk up to the Hollywood Tower Hotel inside Disney's Hollywood Studios park, you know something isn't quite right. The ambiance is creepy, the place is a mess. You shouldn't be there, but you keep moving toward it. And you know you're in for something scary. Once you're seated in your elevator, anticpation swirls because you don't know what's going to happen!

If you don't know, Tower of Terror is a drop ride, but this one goes up and down multiple times with no rhyme or reason. It's all random. Every ride is different. One second you're free-falling, the next, shooting back up. Non-stop thrills!

Rock n Roller Coaster

Combine a super fast car with blaring rock n roll and twists and turns in the dark and you have Rock n Roller Coaster, the second thrill on our list from Hollywood Studios. Visit the "band" at the recording studio then dash off to their concert.

Your ride begins by speeding zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, flattened to your seat as Aerosmith tunes blare from the speakers. Zoom through a florescent city illumintaed with black lights as your stretch limo swirls through corkscrews, then finally dropping you off at the red carpet, hair a mess, heart racing.

Space Mountain

Travel through space at lightning speed! Board your spaceship and blast off through the sky, dotted with a million stars. You're in space and it's dark, so you can't see the dips and turns coming. It's non-stop thrills as you fly through the galaxy. All you can do is hold on!

Space Mountain is a classic Disney attraction, having opened in the Magic Kingdom in 1975, just a few years after the park opened. Despite it's age, it's still one of the most thrilling rides on property.


Flight of Passage

Pandora is a beautiful land, filled with unique plantlike and animals. What better way to explore it than by soaring on the back of a Banshee? And actually feel it breathing underneath you! Join the Na'Vi as you fly fast and slow, over hills and oceans, mist in your face, soaking in everything that makes up the amazing planet of Pandora.

Flight of Passage is an immersive experience, similar to Soarin' at Epcot, but way more intense. This is Disney's best display of 4D thrills. You feel like you're there, a part of Pandora!

Expedition Everest

As you enter Anandapur, an eerie feeling decends over you. Something's been here and it wasn't very happy. But you brave the wilderness anyway in search of the Yeti. High up in the Himalayan mountains, you board a train with your team and gear, ready to face him. But he finds you first, and doesn't like that you're there!

Expedition Everest is a great coaster filled with hills and turns, broken pieces of track, thanks to the Yeti. He sends you falling backward in the darkness through the mountain, an amazing coaster experience.

Attraction Spotlight: Tower of Terror!

Tower of Terror is my absolute favorite ride in the world...not just Disney world, the whole ENTIRE planet!

I remember the first time I went on a drop ride. I was 14 I think. I was visiting my mom in California and we went to a local amusement park and went on one. I was hooked!! Loved the free-fall feeling and the swirl in my belly! Such a rush!!!!

But it wasn't until 2000 (almost 10 years later) that I rode Tower of Terror and it's multiple drops in the same ride!

The decor and ambiance of the Hollywood Tower Hotel blew me away, first and foremost. It was so eerie and so authentic. It really felt like I had entered a building that had suddenly been abandoned...everything still in the same places the guests had left them with cobwebs and dust covering them. Then we went to the library and watched the Twilight Zone movie. So so cool!!

Next was the boiler room, another eerie place where you feel like you shouldn't be there. The Cast Members do such a great job of acting the part of an employee in a haunted hotel.

Then we finally boarded our elevator car, anticipation built as we traveled to the top making a couple stops on the way.

The air inside the ride is cool...air conditioned for the Florida heat. But as your car moves into the drop shaft in complete darkness, you're hit with the warmth. And then you sit there for a second or two or three until the ride starts. You drop, then soar upwards and drop again. Sometimes you stop, catch your breath and then go back up or down again! You never know! I love when the car soars upwards and without stopping, changes direction and falls again, the seat restraints pulling you down before gravity gets the chance. So so awesome!

My Favorite Ride!

I think everyone has a favorite ride in Disney World. I love many different rides....some for the actual thrill and fun of it, others for the story, others for the fantastic theming and authenticity.

For me, Tower of Terror has all those things! It is perfection!

I remember my first time riding it. I was completely impressed with the hotel and the decor. The eeriness of the cobwebs...it all looked so completely real! The library and the little TV clip...so so cool. The boiler room, so authentic and scary. Then I actually got on the ride. Now I had been on drop rides before...love 'em. But none do what Tower of Terror does! Up and down, again and again! LOVE that free-fall feeling! Gotta go no hands!

I've ridden many many times since that first time and I still love it! Sometimes I feel a little bummed when I have a Fastpass and the line moves so fast. I don't get to soak in the hotel's grounds and the lobby!

Each trip, I try to get on Tower of Terror as many times as I can. Sometimes that is kinda hard and I don't get to ride as much as I'd like. The kids are still little, and even though my daughter is tall enough, it's not a ride she loves. Hoping that will magically change one day!! I can hope!! My son will most likely be tall enough by our next family trip in November, but he won't even be 4 yet...it might be too scary for him. So, for the last few trips, Hubby and me have had to take turns riding alone. It's so much more fun riding with someone! We did bribe our daughter and got her on once though.

But when Hubby and me went alone, just the two of us, last April, oh did we ride!! The first day at Hollywood Studios, we rode it over and over. The line was non-existent!! We had a Fastpass, but they didn't even take it the first few times. Then they did take it, but even after that, the standby line was barely 5 minutes! We didn't count, but I bet we rode 10 times that day!! Our second day there, we weren't so lucky. :( It was a Fantasmic night, so the park was more crowded that day. We only got to ride 5 times.
