Dining Reviews: Hollywood Studios

50's Prime Time Cafe
We love this place!! The kitchen table seats with the TV above it are really fun! They only seat 4 though, so if you're a larger party, you won't be seated there :( The decor inside is just amazing. Really feels like you're transported back in time! The servers, or rather, your "Cousins" really play it up and tease you. The food is amazing. I'm a big fan of the pot roast and meatloaf and I'm so glad they come together on a combo plate now. This is a really fun place to have a meal and it's definitely one of our favorites for ambiance, service, and food quality.

Meatloaf

Kids hotdog meal, after having cut it up for my son.

Combo plate. SO SO yummy!

Apple crisp for dessert

Anaheim Produce
Oh my! I had a Golden Margarita, and I have no clue what was in it, but it was so so good!!! They have tons of drinks and snacks, including fruit and other healthy items.

Backlot Express
This is located near Star Tours and the Jedi Training Academy, so there's definitely a Star Wars theme going on. There's some interesting options on the menu, and some safe ones. I went with the Dark Side Chicken and Waffles while my friend dined on the Royal Guard Burger. The chicken was just chicken nuggets, but I'm a sucker for mixing sweet with savory, so it was very tasty. I'm told the burger was very good. The kid in our dining party went with the Power Pack, which is a great option for kids. The restaurant itself is nothing special but there is plenty if indoor and outdoor seating making it a good option.

Fairfax Fare
Such tasty food here!! All kinds of latin specialties! YUM! I had the empanadas platter. Wow.  The sauce on them made the dish. The beans were so so, but the rice was yummy (Can't see it...it's under the corn salsa!!!

Mama Melrose
The decor was really fun, like an authentic Italian eatery. The food was so GOOD! We did the Fantasmic package for lunch, which is included in the Disney Dining Plan, and included an appetizer AND dessert, which all other meals do not. I started with the California Gold wine flight and the tomato and mozzarella salad, which was all delicious. For entree, I had the chicken campanelle, which was so so good. Hubby had the strip steak with four cheese pasta- so good! Our son had the kids cheese pizza. Dessert on the plan is a sampler, and I'm not a coffee drinker, so the tiramisu was just okay. The rest were good. My son chose the spaghetti and meat ball cupcake, which was really cute.

PizzeRizzo's
We were lucky to be able to try this restaurant just after it opened. Formerly Toy Story Pizza Planet, the food is pretty much exactly the same, but the decor has changed and the video games are gone. We loved dining in the wedding reception room upstairs. Wish there would have been some fun music though, and maybe the disco ball spinning. But it was a decent meal. I had the pepperoni pizza and my daughter had the meat lover's. The salad was decent, seeing as I'm not a huge fan of Caesar salad.

Rosie's All-American Cafe
The best part about this eatery is the fact that is is located next to two others, so each member of your party can have what they want, all in one place, and sit together in the large open seating area. The fare here is simple, but good. We had burgers and fries.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
When it comes to themeing, we think this is possibly THE BEST themed restaurant on Disney property! It's just awesome inside...that's all I can say! When to comes to the menu, we haven't been overly impressed. We've had the steak and the ribs. Both decent, but not spectacular. Kids had pizza, no complaints there. Then we had dessert, and I have to say, that more than made up for the kinda boring meal before it. I had the Raspberry Cheesecake, which ended up being cheesecake alternating between layers of red velvet cake. Yum. And hubby had the Peanut Butter-Chocolate cake...which had a creamy warm center like a chocolate lava cake. I am not a huge PB fan, but wow was that good!

Starring Rolls Cafe
We used some dining plan snack credits for breakfast one morning. All we got were simple bagels and cream cheese. But it was a great breakfast and a great use of snack credits! The desserts looked amazing! Will have to go back for those one day!
